Cleanliness grading factor
Weighted 10% of the overall grade
Cleanliness is weighted at 10% of the overall grade. It judges what a photo can show: stains, soiling, yellowing, sweat and deodorant marks, pet hair, lint and residue. Smell cannot be seen, so it is not scored; a seller can state a smoke-free or pet-free home, and the certificate shows that as the seller's statement.
What graders look for
- Yellowing, gray film or spotting left by smoke or mildew
- Residual stains, dirt, or laundry residue
- Pet hair or environmental contaminants
- Overall freshness and ready-to-wear cleanliness
Examples
- A white shirt marked down for yellowed underarms and a gray collar band.
- A coat whose certificate notes the seller's smoke-free statement, shown as the seller's claim.
